Psalm 36: 5-10
Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens,
  your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
  your justice like the great deep.
O Lord, you preserve both man and beast.
How priceless is your unfailing love!
Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
  you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
  in your light we see light.
Continue your love to those who know you,
  your righteousness to the upright in heart.

Lord, we praise and exalt You for your love which reaches to the heavens and for your faithfulness which is so great that it touches the skies. How priceless is your unfailing love! Thank You for the feast of abundance and the drink from the river of delights. Thank You for the fountain of life and for your wonderful light. Continue your love to those who know You especially to Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge. Let them feast on your abundance and drink from the river of delight and from the fountain of life. May they spread your light and your love to the people of Peru as they live in your righteousness.
Amen.

Acts 26: 16-18
Jesus’ words to Paul: “Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen of me and what I will show you. I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.”

Lord, Jesus, we pray for Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia. We believe that you have called them to be witnesses to the people of Peru just as you called Paul to witness to the Gentiles. Give them every spiritual gift that they will need to open eyes and turn the Peruvians from darkness into light and from the power of Satan to God. Help them to teach of your great mercy and forgiveness and to bring the people into sanctification by faith in You.

Also, Lord, we thank You for the finances that have already been provided and ask that the required monthly pledges come in soon.

Amen.

Matthew 28: 18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Lord, we pray for Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge and we thank You for calling them to make disciples in the mission field in Peru. Thank You that You are with them and will be with them always, to the very end of the age. Empower then with Your Holy Spirit to bring many into relationship with Your Son, Jesus Christ.

We also pray for the diocesan Missions Conference on October 11. May this be an inspiring time which will lead many others into your mission field. Bless all the people of the Albany diocese that you have called. With You, Lord, all is “Mission Possible”.

Amen.

Psalm 103: 20-22
Praise the Lord, you his angels,
You mighty ones who do his bidding,
Who obey his word.
Praise the Lord all his heavenly hosts,
You his servants who do his will.
Praise the Lord, all his works
Everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, O my soul.

We praise You Lord, for your servants who do your will, for Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge. We thank You for their upcoming ministry to Peru. Continue to send them your direction and discernment so that they may do your bidding and obey your word. Along with the angels and the heavenly hosts, we praise You, Lord, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We praise you for all your works throughout the world, here in the Diocese of Albany and there in Peru and in all corners of this earth, everywhere in your dominion. Praise You, Lord.
Amen.

Proverbs 3: 5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.

We thankYou Lord, for the trust that
Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge
have in You as they listen to your call
to serve You in Peru. We know that they
acknowledge You in all their ways. Help
them to continue to trust and acknowledge You.
Thank You that You will make their paths
straight from Albany to South America.
Amen.

Psalm 98: 1-3
Sing to the Lord a new song,
For He has done marvelous things;
His right hand and his holy arm
Have worked salvation for Him.
The Lord has made his salvation known,
And revealed his righteousness to the nations.
He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel;
All the ends of the earth have seen
The salvation of our God.

We praise You Lord, for the marvelous things that You have done, especially for your sacrifice on the cross, for dying for our sins, for your resurrection and for your merciful grace in that all who believe in You will be saved and have eternal life. We thank You for Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge and the part that they will play in revealing your righteousness to the people of Peru. Give them strength and empowerment and financial provision that they may be effective disciples making disciples. We pray that for all of us, Lord. Amen.

Psalm 98: 4-6
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
Burst into jubilant song with music;
Make music to the Lord with the harp,
With the harp and the sound of singing,
With trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn ---
Shout for joy before the Lord and King.

Lord, we thank You for the gift of joy and for the gift of music. Thank You for Mother Julia’s talent in playing the piano. We pray that her music will bring the Peruvian people into your joy. Amen.

Psalm 98: 7-9
Let the sea resound and everything in it,
The world and all who live in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands,
Let the mountains sing together for joy;
Let them sing before the Lord,
For He comes to judge the earth,
He will judge the world in righteousness
And the people with equity.

Lord, we thank You for the beauty of nature and for all the natural beauty in the mountains and rivers of Peru. Again, we thank You for your righteousness and for your mercy and your equity. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon the Mudges, and have mercy upon the people in Peru to whom the Mudges will be ministering. Amen

Note: These passages jumped out at me for the Mudges because Fr. Shaw’s e-mail address contains shepherd. And we know that Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge will be good shepherds for the people of Peru.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for his sheep.

We thank You Father God for the ministries of Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge. We thank you that they are willing to give up their lives for the ministry that you have for them in Peru. We praise you and thank you that you will be with them every step of the way.

John 10: 14 I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and the sheep know me.

We pray for the people to whom the Mudges will minister in Peru. We ask your grace in helping the Mudges to learn Spanish more easily so they can come to know the Peruvians and communicate your love to them. We pray that the Peruvians come to know and love the Mudges as we do.

John 10:10b I have come to give life and to give it abundantly.

Jesus, we thank You for the abundant grace and love that you have already given to the Mudges and to all of us who believe in You. We know that that love and grace and abundant life will continue for the Mudges, for the Peruvians, and for all who follow you. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
