Isaiah 49: 1-3 and 5-6

Listen to me, you islands;
Hear this, you distant nations:
Before I was born the Lord called me;
From my birth he has made mention of my name.
He made my mouth like a sharpened sword,
In the shadow of his hand he hid me.
He made me into a polished arrow
And concealed me in his quiver.
He said to me, “You are my servant,
Israel in whom I will display my splendor.

And now the Lord says—
He who formed me in the womb to be his servant
To bring Jacob back to Him
And gather Israel to Himself,
For I am honored in the eyes of the Lord
And my God has been my strength—
He says:
It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
To restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
That you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.

Lord, thank You for your calling to Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge. Thank You that You have sharpened their mouths with Your Word, sharp like a sword. Thank You that you have inspired them to proclaim your goodness and deliver your message like a polished arrow. Thank You that You are their strength and that Your Son, Jesus, will shine through them, lights for the Gentiles. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit in them, guiding them every step of the way as they bring your salvation to Peru. We pray in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Ephesians 3: 8-11

Although I am less than the least of all God’s people, this grace was given me to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lord, we thank You for the Mudges, for their humility and for their willingness to preach to the Gentiles in Peru. Thank You for the grace that you have already given them and that you will continue to bestow upon them as they do a mighty work for you. We pray that You help them with their Spanish lessons so that they may effectively preach Your Word. We pray that Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge may have clearer understandings of your mysteries so that they may share your manifold wisdom with all Peruvians that You put in their paths. May they always proclaim Your Son, Jesus Christ, and His eternal purpose. Amen.

Update from Fr. Shaw Mudge: Our transition plans are moving along, and we anticipate going down to Lima on or about April 20. We will be at the Missionary Training Institute in Colorado from about February 8 to March 13. We thank you for your prayers.

Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills-
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip-
he who watches over you will not slumber;
Indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you-
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm-
he will watch over your life;
The Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Lord we thank You for your help for the Mudges and that You help them whether they are gazing upon hills in Duanesburg or Wynantskill or Colorado or Peru. Thank You Supreme Creator, Maker of heaven and earth. Thank You that you will not allow Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, or Lydia Mudge to stumble; You always watch over them. You will keep them from all harm as you watch over them day and night. You watch over there coming and going both now in the Albany Diocese, in a few weeks in Colorado and then in Peru and forevermore.. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

Amen.

Psalm 103: 20-22
Praise the Lord, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, O my soul.

Lord, we praise You and we thank You that we are with the heavenly angels in offering You praise. We are glorious works of your creation. And we thank You for Fr. Shaw, Mother Julie, and Lydia Mudge that along with your heavenly hosts and angels, they do your bidding and they do your will. Continue to bless them mightily Lord. Let them have the complete financial provision pledged soon. Help them in their preparation to leave for the missionary training in Colorado and their long term planning for the mission field in Peru. We praise You and thank You, Lord.
Amen.
