Scripture Prayer

Romans 8:35 and 36-39:

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine or nakedness, or danger, or sword? No in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us! For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, not anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We thank You God for the ultimate victory in your Son, Jesus Christ and for your Holy Spirit which guides us in every way to do your perfect will. We thank You that nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus. And we thank You for the ministries of Father Shaw and Mother Julie and Lydia Mudge which help to spread the news of your victory and the reality of your love to the people in Peru. Lord, we particularly thank You this week for the spiritual closeness that the Mudges have felt this week and for the progress that they have made against spiritual warfare. Continue to guide and strengthen them, Lord, so that their ministries may thrive and so that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor anything else in all creation may separate the Mudges and those to whom they minister from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Prayer Mail

Dear Partners in Prayer,
Peace be with you.
This is our weekly public prayer mail for 4 April 2011.

Thanksgivings:

1) For the spiritual closeness to God that we have been having.

2) For the spiritual warfare progress that we have had, particularly today.

3) For the excellent Diocese of Peru Synod yesterday.

4) For our friends in Peru, and our friends elsewhere.

5) For our Biblical interpretation class last week. It was really awesome to see God pull things together for the students.

6) For the great coffee hour consumables at the mission of La Ascension that Julie and Lydia prepared (and yes, I did help).

Prayers:

1) For students and classes this week and next. This is the last week of the current cycle. Our exam week is next week. Pray for the students as they prepare for their exam.

2) For students as they prepare to decide what courses they will take next cycle. The next cycle begins after Easter Week.

3) For Holy Week and Easter Week preparations.

4) For Lydia´s preparing-for-college trip in July/August.

5) For which churches and groups to visit in the Diocese of Albany, during July and August, to talk about our work in Peru. If you would like us to visit a parish, a group, or a deanery gathering - such as a deanery picnic, please let us know.

6) For the relationships and spiritual protection of missionaries and other diocesan team members in Peru, and for our ministries, finances, resources, and priorities.

7) That we would be able to keep on top of all the things that God would like us to do.

Thank you for praying for us. Your praying makes a difference for us, and I pray for you every day.

God bless you,
In Christ,
Shaw, and on behalf of Julie and Lydia

Scripture Prayer

Romans 6: 10-11

For the death he died, he died to sin once for all, but the life he lives, he lives to God. So you too consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Jesus, we thank You for your ultimate sacrifice: for dying to sin once for all of us. We especially praise You for your resurrection, which allows all of us believers to be dead to sin, but alive to God, in You, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit.

We thank You for the message that Father Shaw and Mother Julie teach so that others in Peru might also be dead to sin and alive in You. Thank You for their teaching and preaching ministries. We ask Lord, that You be with the Mudges as they prepare for the next teaching cycle, showing their seminarians how the apostles lived in You in the book of Acts and how they may hear your voice more clearly as they study and interpret the Bible.

As always, Lord, we pray for all the people in the Diocese of Peru: for their relationships and spiritual protection, all of their ministries, finances, resources and priorities.

Amen.
