February Newsletter

Students taking diocesan exams earlier this month

What you are doing for the spread of the Gospel in Peru, and beyond.

By supporting us, you are helping God´s work be accomplished, not just in Peru,
but across South America, and (as of this week), into North America, all based in
part on what we do here in Lima. You are helping to provide seminary tools
throughout Peru, including to the specific area within Peru where Bp. Mike
Chapman is concentrating his efforts, as well as elsewhere across North and South
America.

The students attending the Saints Augustine Seminary in Lima, Peru, include people like Mercedes, Dimas, Manuel, Juan Carlos, Oscar, and Anita, just to name a few. Some are near the end of their time in seminary. Some are reassessing their goals as to the kind of ministry they are called to, or how long it will take to complete their course of study. Some are just starting out in seminary.

All the students are making huge sacrifices to attend seminary in Lima, in terms of time and commitment. Because we are missionaries here(being supported by you in prayer and financially), the students do not have to pay the cost of our teaching here, a cost that neither they nor the Diocese of Peru could afford.

If we were not here, they would not be benefitting from our teaching, in areas such as New Testament, Old Testament, Evangelism, Preaching, Church History, Theology, and the Study and Interpretation of the Bible. Thank you everyone, on their behalf, for helping to make possible God´s future ministry plans for them.

But there is more. The seminary on-line capabilities are just getting underway, this week. I have created 12 short YouTube videos in the past few weeks as part of this effort. Once the on-line courses are up and going in their full capacity, not only will your contributions to SAMS on our behalf, and your prayers, continue
to make seminary affordable to the people in Lima through your support of us, your combined efforts will make seminary education more accessible to students across Peru and across South America who would not otherwise have access to seminary, at all. Thank you for being part of that.

And we are doing much, much more. So, when you think about us, or pray about us, or support us financially, remember that what we do here is not just about us, it is about the Anitas, Dimas, Bp. Mike Chapmans and Bp. Godfreys who you are helping, as well. Ultimately, it is about God building his church, one person at a time, in
thought, word and deed.
Prayer Requests:
• For the expanding on-line capabilities.
• For the students.
• For our relationships, priorities,
ministries, and finances.
God bless you, and thank you for your
continuing support! I pray for you, every day,
Shaw+, and on behalf of Julie+ and Lydia
