Weekly Prayer Mail

Dear Prayer Partners,

Peace be with you.

This is our public prayer mail of Tuesday, 19 January 2010.

Thanksgivings:

1) The Global missions course at the seminary this past week went really well. We had a good time with the people who gave their presentations as well as a good time with the students who attended. I recommend Meredith Borel of Rock the World if you are looking for a presenter, and whatever she suggests.

2) Julie has registered for the New Wineskins for Global Mission conference in North Carolina in April, and she will be attending the world-wide SAMS missionary gathering on our behalf. Lydia and I will be here in Lima during that time.

3) We have tickets for a visit to the Diocese of Albany in May and June. We plan to visit Hannah´s graduation from TSM in Mid-May in Pennsylvania, work our way through college visitations with Lydia, ultimately end up in the Diocese of Albany for Hannah´s ordination in June, and a week later, attend the Albany Diocesan Convention in Speculator. And then, we will return to Peru.

4) Thanksgiving for some great cultural experiences in Lima, in the past week.

5) Thanksgiving for a great mission team to work with.

6) Thanksgiving for the youth mission team from Pennsylvania which is here at one of the missions this week, and that Lydia is participating in the events of the week.

7) For the prayer time at the mission of Jesus el Salvador in the Villa el Salvador District of Lima, last night at the Holy Eucharist. It was a divine blessing for everyone.

Prayers:

1) For the mission, ministry, relationships, and finances of the Diocese of Peru, the seminary here, the missions of Ascension and Jesus el Salvador, and the missionaries here, including the Mudge family.

2) For the Diocese of Albany short-term mission trip in late July.

3) For the services that we will be involved with/leading at the Mission of Ascencion in the Surco District of Lima, over the next three weeks, including the healing service on the evening of February 7.

4) For the preparation for our upcoming courses in preaching and evangelism, for the upcoming seminary orientation presentations in mid-February, and for the CEMO ordination process parts that Julie is putting together, including the selection of the people to be on the committee. That the Holy Spirit would be bless all those involved with discernment and wisdom.

5) For the current phase of the Bishop Suffragan process, having the nominees send in their applications for review. We would like the Holy Spirit to make it abundantly clear who the candidates of his choice are to be.

6) For the seeds that were planted at the Global Missions course this week would sprout and grow, guided and cultivated by the Holy Spirit.

7) For our supporters in prayer, as well as those who support us financially. That would include you, in one or both of those categories.

8) For continuing good relationships with our landlady and the people in our building. There is a new building maintenance-fee-paying process in the works, and we would like your prayers for that, that the next billing cycle would go smoothly and in a timely manner.

9) For the 17 goals handed out at the annual meeting of the Mission of Ascencion in Surco, for 2010.

10) An anniversary prayer for my mom. Today is her wedding anniversary. My dad passed away on January 23, 2001. They had been married for 50 years.

Thank you for praying for us. I pray for you, every day. Your prayers make a difference.

God bless you,

In Christ,
Shaw, and on behalf of Julie and Lydia.
Lima, Peru
